Definitions, success and acceptance criteria and evaluation methods of the Products and Services in the scope of Mirora QMS.
Company Providing Translation Services.
Translation Service Supplier (TSS):
Person or organization providing product or service to Mirora and working full time, part time or freelance.
TSS working independently from Mirora. Suppliers of translation and related services (such as freelance translators, editors, proofreaders, field experts, page designers, graphic designers, voiceover talents, etc.)
All Mirora employees.
Transferring fully, accurately and fluently, the meaning of a text written in a language to another language by successfully reflecting all the format and contextual characteristics of the source text.
Comparing a translated text with the source text sentence by sentence, and doing necessary corrections and changes.
Comparing a translated text with the source text, if necessary sentence by sentence, and doing necessary corrections and changes.
Reading a translated text and comparing it with the source text if and when necessary, evaluating the translated text as a whole, and reporting incorrect or incomplete parts (if any).
Quality Control (QC):
Reading a translated text and comparing it with the source text if and when necessary, evaluating the translated text as a whole, and rating the translation based on the standards indicated on the Work Assignment Form.
Scanning printed documents at a sufficient quality to obtain the best OCR result, preferably at 600 dpi resolution.
Optical Character Recognition is the process of converting from non-editable file types to editable file types using software such as Abby Fine Reader, etc. Unless stated otherwise on the Work Assignment Forms, source texts shall be transferred to MS Word file preserving all formatting properties.
Reapplying the source document's page design, page numbers and bookmarks including all other formatting properties identically to the target document before and/or after the translation and/or editing or other processes. The software to be used shall be specifically stated on Work Assignment Forms.
Checking the files the editing and/or proofreading and/or page setting of which has been completed, by comparing the page setting properties in particular with the source document and applying correction and amendments if necessary by the page designer.
Lists containing the frequently used or subject-specific words and groups of words in the source and target languages, prepared by Mirora, Mirora's customer or third parties for a specific project or a series of translation projects.
Computer-Aided Translation (CAT) Tools:
Computer Aided Translation memory programs such as memoQ, Trados, SDLX, Wordfast, StarTransit, DeJaVu, Logoport, etc.
Translation Memory (TM):
Memory generated by Computer-Aided Translation software such as those mentioned above.
Mirora Project Manager (PM) evaluates below criteria and will determine whether to release the product for the next processes. If any of the below criteria does not meet Mirora instructions and rules, PM makes the translator correct/fix/supply all missing criteria accordingly or start the necessary process(es) from scratch with the same or different TSS.
Success and Acceptance Criteria of the Processes:
Translator should translate the whole document into target language as per the rules and conditions written on the PO.
Below items to be checked before delivering the target text(s) as the criteria of the success of Translation process:
• On time delivery
• Consistency of the terminology and the translation memory
• Completeness of the target text
• File names and format
• Checking the target text for any notes, comments or remarks not found in the source file and added to the target text by mistake
• Preserving page design, fonts and any other similar characteristics of the source file
• Meeting the expectations of the customer, target audience and its culture such as local metric system, etc.
The translator completes the online checklist covering the above items for all his/her job deliveries.
Editor should check, and if necessary, correct the translation, based on the source files, using the Translation Services Supplier Check List. The above items are checked before delivering the target text(s) as the criteria of the success of editing process.
When necessary, Proofreader checks and corrects the target text if necessary, comparing with the source text. Typical grammar, spelling, terminology, format, style, etc. errors are reported in a separate file or in the delivery message with the relevant text. The above items and also style and fluency are checked before delivering the target text(s) as the criteria of the success of Proofreading process.
The reviewer does not make any corrections or changes on the target text; but reviews a part of the target text, and reports the grammar, spelling, terminology, format, style, etc. errors in a separate file or in the delivery message with the relevant text, or fills in an LQA form as stated on the PO. Success and acceptance criteria of the review process are written on the LQA form or PO.

Unless otherwise requested by the client, file names remain the same.
• Term Approval Form:
A "Term Approval Form" is used when in doubt about terms.
All source and target texts, reference file and other materials are CONFIDENTIAL, even if this is not specifically stated in correspondences of files.
Objections to terms, conditions, prices, amounts, deadlines and other items should be sent to the relevant Mirora Project Manager or directly to
as soon as possible. Failure to do so means that you accept the Mirora records.
