Although its similarity to Russian is confusing because it is a Slavic language, it is not Russian and everyone in Ukraine speaks Russian, but the majority speak Ukrainian, their mother tongue.<\/span><\/p>\n

We agree that Ukrainian translation is difficult, yes. We also agree that English is a universal language, but the math of each system is different.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of course, you can make a living in Ukraine knowing English, but where you are in Ukraine is very important.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you arrive in a big city, you can speak basic English with most people aged 30 and under.<\/span><\/p>\n

When you live in a rural area, the English-speaking rate of citizens aged 30+ is steadily declining. Although there have been efforts to increase the English speaking area recently, the desired momentum has not yet been achieved. For this reason, it would be healthiest to know basic vocabulary and to handle our official business with companies that can translate Ukrainian.<\/span><\/p>\n
