• When you purchase translation services, you should always ask what processes your supplier will use. You can ask for definitions of the processes, success criteria and evidence of their implementation.
• You can find out whether your supplier has the competence, proficiency, experience, appropriate resources and tools for all processes. If you can ensure that your supplier informs you about the Pre-Translation preparation processes and checks the source text for translation suitability, the quality of the target text will increase. You should also ask your supplier to describe the Translation and Post-Translation processes in detail.
• You should inquire at the quotation or confirmation stage whether your translation provider offers an absolute customer satisfaction guarantee. You should also make sure that your translation provider can provide post-collection services.
• Do you know who your translation supplier really is? Your supplier should be able to share their qualifications and experience with their customers, have a confidentiality and service agreement with all of them, constantly feed back them, provide training if necessary and measure their performance.
• Rather than translation companies that quote you in units such as characters, lines, pages, etc., you should prefer translation companies that quote/quote based on WORD and share/share text analysis information with you.
