In a multilingual meeting, congress or conference, the success of simultaneous interpretation does not depend on the interpreters' skill alone. If the interpreter's voice does not reach the audience clearly and without interruption, even the best interpretation cannot do its job. This is why simultaneous interpretation has to be planned as a whole, together with the right equipment and an experienced technical team.
At Mirora, we provide simultaneous interpretation equipment and technical setup together with our trusted technical partners. Interpreters, equipment and on-site technical support throughout the event come together in a single quote, so you work with one point of contact for all the language needs of your event.
If you already have your own interpreters, or if you only need the technical infrastructure, you can rent simultaneous interpretation equipment separately from our interpreting services. Setup and on-site technical support throughout the event are included with the equipment.
In simultaneous interpretation, the interpreter works almost at the same time as the speaker. For this to be possible, the interpreter has to work in a space insulated from the noise of the room, hear the speaker clearly and have the interpretation reach the audience through a separate channel. Participants then listen through headsets, selecting the channel in their own language.
At events with more than one language, a separate interpretation channel is set up for each language. This allows participants in the same room to follow the same speech in different languages at the same time. For more on what simultaneous interpretation is and how interpreters work, see our Simultaneous Interpretation page.
The better we understand your event, the more accurately we can plan the right equipment and the right interpreting team. Sharing the following information when you request a quote speeds up the process:
You can request a quote even if not all the details are confirmed yet; we will work through the open points together.
In simultaneous interpretation, both experienced interpreters and equipment are booked according to the event date. Especially in the busy congress and meeting seasons, finding specialized interpreters and suitable equipment can become difficult. Planning early removes this risk.
Early planning also gives time to prepare. The layout of the room, the seating arrangement and the existing sound system directly affect how the setup is done. The earlier the venue information is shared, the better the setup can be planned, with no surprises on the day of the event.
Simultaneous interpretation is demanding work that requires intense concentration. For this reason, on assignments longer than one hour, at least two interpreters work together, taking turns at regular intervals. This keeps the quality of the interpretation consistent from the start of the event to the end.
An interpreter's command of the subject matters as much as their language skills. Sharing presentations, the agenda, the speaker list and any glossary before the event allows interpreters to prepare and study specialized terms in advance. In medical, technical or legal meetings, this preparation noticeably improves accuracy.
Not every multilingual meeting needs simultaneous interpretation. For meetings with few participants, business negotiations and site visits, consecutive interpreting, which requires no equipment, may be a better fit; in consecutive interpreting, the interpreter waits for the speaker to finish and then delivers the interpretation. For large, long and multilingual events, simultaneous interpretation saves time and keeps the flow of the speech intact. We can assess together which method suits your event; for details, see our Consecutive Interpreting page.
Some participants may be in the room while others join online, or the event may take place entirely online. In these cases, the interpretation can also reach online participants through remote interpreting platforms. In hybrid events, a stable internet connection and high-quality audio transmission are decisive for the quality of the interpretation. For details, see our Remote Interpreting page and our article “What is Remote Simultaneous Interpretation?”.
The price of simultaneous interpretation equipment rental and interpreting services depends on the characteristics of the event. The main factors are the duration of the event, the number of language pairs, the number of participants, the number of rooms and parallel sessions, the city where the event takes place, and additional technical needs such as recording or online participation. If interpreting services are also included, the level of subject-matter expertise required affects the price as well. For a price tailored to your event, contact us through our Get a Free Quote page.
We provide simultaneous interpretation equipment rental and simultaneous interpretation services in every city in Türkiye, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya. Whether in hotel meeting rooms, congress centers or corporate meeting spaces, we plan the right solution for the scale of your event together with you.
Most problems at events with simultaneous interpretation can be prevented at the planning stage. The most common are:
Underestimating the number of participants, so there are not enough headsets on the day
Not mentioning parallel sessions at the start
Sharing presentations and the agenda with interpreters at the last minute, or not at all
Speakers and participants asking questions without using a microphone; interpreters cannot interpret what they cannot hear
Not planning for online participants
Requesting a quote very shortly before the event
